Imagine how much time they'd have lost stopping and putting on the shoes the old fashioned way.

Aluminum frame, 700c wheels, 7-speed drivetrain, and Northroad-style bars. And not a lot of money (to a bike racer ).
You were thinking of a Soma Mixte, right? Joe Parkin got married and his wife rode a Soma Mixte and he rode the Softride. There's a picture in this month's Bike mag.

I was. Then I started pricing things out and it was a lot more than my wife wanted to spend on a bike she'd occasionally ride.

got my new Magishine lights all installed. Still letting a couple of them charge. I'm probably gonna go for a little shakedown cruise after the game is over, which will be late, and I'll be tired. I'll see.

The light on my helmet is a little heavy, but not terrible. It'll strengthen my neck muscles. The headlight is freaking bright, and that's not even with the helmet mounted one. It's gonna be awesome.

yeah it was a big deal today on campus. I posted it a couple of pages back, but no one took notice. Thankfully (for the undergrad students) it was at the hospital which is not the same as the homewood undergrad campus. Still scary though.

Ahh. Missed your first post. Just had to post this after I took flak for saying Hopkins was dangerous a few weeks back.

Watch her at :55 try to clip her shoe back onto the pedal instead of putting it on her foot.

No kidding, not sure why she thought going across the path of oncoming cyclists was a good idea...getting her shoe in should have been the least of her worries.

I rode tonight.

I'm noticing that early in the season, riding was seriously habitual. I'd come home from work, put on my gear, go ride, come home, prep dinner, eat, browse web, sleep.

When I stopped riding, everything went out the window, my bedtime moved from ~11pm to ~3am, simply because without physical exertion I wasn't tired.

Well now it's starting to become habit again, the schedule of my days are starting to fall back into place. My fitness is still ass, but hopefully with some good riding and good resting it'll be back pretty quick.

At least she had some semi deep dish carbon wheels, gotta look pro when you swerve all over the road.

I didn't even notice that the first 3 times I watched it. That clip is like a trainwreck, I just can't stop watching it and laughing.
