A line of storms is headed this way that looks like the ones you typically see in spring which spawn tornadoes. 65 degrees right now and we're sitting in the crux of an occluded front. The high tomorrow is 49. I heart crazy weather.

honestly my post came across as a bit rude...Ive never had issues with him personally, I was 'just sayin'. No surprise he got banned and he certainly could have avoided it. He just couldnt let go of the silly sh it.

So my legs feel great after a cross race this Sunday. What the hell do I do to keep that up? There are two more scheduled in the coming weeks, until Dec. 19. I know you folks are all about your base, but I'm all about ending my semester, work-study, and showing up at my job for the next few weeks, so this sounds pretty nice time-wise: https://www.cxmagazine.com/training-a...-birner-part-3
Not that I'm trying to "peak for a big race." Just maintain what I've found, then go back to long rides when I have more time mid-December.

To me opinions are like A^holes..everyone has one and there is plenty of both on the internet. I'll save my passion for town meetings and the voting booth where having an opinion really matters.

I've consistently found that I'll perform better after a really hard bike day.

Yeah, I know about that. I'm sure it has a more than a bit to do with it. Basically I'm just wondering if I can get away with those 45min-1 hour rides for two weeks and not lose fitness. It seems like too little.

It's no cake walk, but it wasn't a nightmare, either. Everything went smooth. The nurses and therapists said that they have someone about every 2 years that comes through the surgery like I did. The surgeon was a magician. They put me in the lung capacity hall of fame. Most people that come through there (admittedly in bad shape) are about a maximum of 1500 ml. I could top the little measurement doohicky out at 4250 ml when I had a chest tube.
I came home yesterday and got on the stationary. 20 minutes, 49 watts average. It's a start.
The good news is I'm 7# below my previous 'race' weight, which I never hit last year.
It's hard to convey this more, but all is well in the world. Except maybe for umd.

it's gonna rain. I don't want to ride in the rain. sigh. I wonder what my window of opportunity really is to get this workout in outside. sigh.

I liken it to the guy who goes into the cage with the bear, the bear mauls him to death and then Mr Hairspray Anchorman on the morning talk show says "How could this tragedy have been prevented". It's pretty simple you moron don't go into the cage with a bear. umd liked to go into the cage and then poke the bear with sharp stick..if the bear didn't react he'd go to the bear's owners and demand that the bear react...well this time he got mauled to death....and now do we really wonder how could this have been prevented?

Yeah, I'd like to know as well.
But ... whatever it was, it seems like you're doing ok. That's good to know.

This reminds me of the time I had pneumonia and my wife (GF at the time) told her friend that my youth was keeping me out of the ICU. Her response was "That's horrible! They won't let him in because he's not old enough???"
