Infinitely impossible if you take into account the fact that someone that can actually do something about it actually has to care about fixing it first.

Well, first, someone actually has to attempt to fix it.

Who put the NOX into this economy? I love how the news never coincides with what's actually going on. If I have to listen to another supplier tell me that lead times have gotten even longer I think I am going to scream.

industrial work - castings and forgings are now posting lead times into early next year.

....hope no one is hoping for wind power to happen anytime soon....

More time to build us wheels then.

A riding buddy sent you an email. He wants a PT setup on carbon clinchers for him and his wife. rbrooks should be the user name on the email.

Sent out over 250 emails last week. .....and still didn't feel like I made up any ground. I'll give a look for it specifically during lunch.

We see it long before the markets see it.

It's kind of a weird thing though. Total levels still seem low but everyone has cut their resources so deep and demanded too much from too few people for so long that it's like the engine is getting flooded. Be looking for a lot of job changes in a few months.

This I did not know. I have no idea if I even have the original bolts. In any event, I found a small shop which has worked on my cheaper bikes (motobecane I used to own, sister and mom's dept store mtb's) and he said he'd put the canti's on for like 10 bucks. I'll let him figure it out now. I think I have the original brakes for it as well, but those are crummy dia compes. There are some shimano exage canti's on there which should work out fine so whatever.

Actually, how can it be a bolt thing? The different length bolts wouldn't do anything different because they're just going deeper in there and not really doing anything. I thought it was more of a canti post length thing and canti brake not being wide enough thing.

Hoping or planning? I'd hope that it could happen tomorrow, but I'm not planning on it producing any meaningful segment of the market ever. And I have a brother-in-law that's neck deep in it.

Based on our play in the first half, we didn't deserve to win. However, it's not up to the ref to decide that.

Well, they're often called "bolts" in this application. You have a threaded stud on the brake and a long nut that goes through the frame/fork to reach the stud. The stud lengths are standard (shorter for the rear). The nuts have various head sizes and lengths, and your LBS should have an assortment to find a fit.

If the frame cross-member or the fork steerer are smaller diameter than the bike the brakes originally came from, then they won't be able to tighten against the bike before bottoming out on the stud.

Maybe this isn't your problem, but that's what it sounded like.

There's a ton of work for it in the area - Siemens has their wind power plant about 1 mile from my house and there are some large wind farms that have already gone up near chicago, but that industry so far seems to be full throttle then wait. Tons of short run and prototype work but no long term concrete POs. We've done enough heavy work in the transmissions to put some food on the table.....but prototype work right now is going to get buried under the late pours at the foundrys.

It's mostly like that because the tax credit wind gets has to be regularly renewed by Congress. When it first gets renewed the industry goes crazy, then when it's close to expiring and needs to get renewed again, no one puts in money because they aren't 100% sure if the credit will actually get renewed. It is set to expire again at the end of 2012.

I'm mostly pissed off that we were getting fouls called for stuff they were getting away with. That and disallowing a goal because you're being fouled. Whatever, contrary to my opinion at halftime I think they'll make it out, and they were probably never going to get out ahead of England, so I don't think (by which I mean I hope) it doesn't matter.

ETA: And their defense got really lazy and were just holding players all over the place the last 20 minutes, and getting away with it

yeah, the calls were all terrible throughout, but then it just got ridiculous with that goal. I have no idea how you can make that call. If in doubt, don't disallow the goal. It's that simple.
