Not for nothing, but I don't think any of the guys around Levi in the GC can TT with him, particularly on that 60km TT later in the Giro. Levi is going to crush that friggin race. I can't wait.

considering a certain collar bone injury, and it's effect, is that so surprising? |

discovery/astana should be congratulated for how well they have remedied LL's questionable TT skills.

His position IS a lot better than before, I'd go 15-30w.

Seriously though, I don't know why Lance just doesn't fly around the earth backwards and unbreak his collarbone. |
AFAIK Lance also hasn't trained on any of the Giro climbs. He used to train heavily on the Tour climbs.
Why not just take him at his word? He doesn't make any claims to being able to contest the GC win in this. |

We are getting some Paddy on the highlights package in Australia who has an accent that is almost indeceipherable |

full disclosure: i had to flip one of the images.
looks like levi lowered the head, closed the "scoop," and moved a little bit further over the bottom bracket. |
another thing, was anyone else imressed by wiggins? i couldn't believe how long he hung on there.

I just got this email...thought I'd share....
Tour Tracker Users - "Hey folks. This is Allan, the cycling-nut/programmer who volunteered to write the "Adobe Tour Tracker" web application for the Tour of California. Maybe we met in the chat room? Maybe you cursed my name when things went badly... Either way, I hope that my late night coding sessions have made following US cycling better for you each time. I'm writing to say that I've volunteered again to build a version for the 2009 Giro d'Italia and it is going live tomorrow! It is sadly a "premium" offering from the company that has the video rights and they are charging to cover those costs. But it is still pretty cheap I think. No guarantees, but the video seems solid, the GPS was working great today, cyclingnews is providing the play by play, and of course, no advertising! I'll be adding stuff each week too, so it should be fun. I think we might get Vandeveldt to get in the chat room in fact now that he is done? Anyway, I wanted to make sure that the people who have supported us over the past 2 years knew that there is a new opportunity to waste time at work! And, as a bonus, the first 10 people to sign up will one of my (unused) "ADOBE" jersies from the 2008 Tour of California. Thanks and have fun. Allan PS There is a link below to launch what they are calling the "Race Tracker" and a also a link to get off this list, although I'm the only one who will ever send anything out on this list." Click Here to Launch the Giro Race Tracker! I've been watching it just fine on the universalsports website, but for those of you who might like GPS and/or another option, could be worth looking into. |
To the people recording the Universal broadcast, should I record the morning show or the evening? Better commentary?

I got the email too. I loved the tour tracker for following the Tour of California. But as the saying goes, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free." Free coverage by RAI and Universal has been good enough.

who doesn't love chocolate milk?

long descent + approx. 16KM flat run in to the finish on todays stage. I think it will be interesting to see how menchov fares. if I recall his descending skills from the TdF last year, they were very cat 3-ish. although the 16K after the descent should give him enough road to get back on terms.
|
I think the finish will be exciting but right now it's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The longhorn guy is back!!!
