bdcheung 05-19-09 08:30 AM

armstrong went OTB of that climb. not sure if he's caught back on the descent.

amazing finish, but what will it cost DiLuca in the long run?

Grumpy McTrumpy 05-19-09 08:41 AM

nice win by DeLuca, but I think he burnt his matchbook for the next few days.

I couldn't tell but it sort of looked like LA caught the tail end of Levi's group at the line.

Tomorrow's a snoozer for the LPR guys. Di Luca gets some recovery before the TT. Remember they're a lot fresher going into today than they expected to be after Sunday's "recovery spin" for the GC guys.

Gotta say, with another month and a half, the GC guys better be watching Lance. He's in some pretty good company at this point in the race.

Good on Sastre to start showing some cards.

Not quite. He was a few seconds further behind. A respectable showing nonetheless. I am looking forward to the TT. Read where LA will be riding a special Trek road bike outfitted with an aero bar.

he put almost 50 seconds into Leipheimer & Basso, time which he needed for the TT. That'll help him in the long run

Duke of Kent 05-19-09 08:54 AM

Wow. Basso f***ed the other guys he was with.

Way to suck at descending, dude.

That said, they should know that he sucks, and should kindly illustrate that he should move to the rear of the group on fast, tight, technical downhills like that one.

a repeat of last year when he cracked maybe
how did Basso look?

bdcheung 05-19-09 08:56 AM

Basso looked like he always does when he descends - skiddish.

Is Di Luca doping? I'm just remembering all the incredible performances of last years Giro, and how it was all BS.

As an admitted Lance fanboy, I concur! :thumb:

:thumb: I have seen better local cable access announcers.

Whether you like Di Luca or not, you have to admit he is a lot more exciting to watch than Vanilla Leipheimer.

txvintage 05-19-09 09:47 AM

What happened to Horner? Seemed a weird stage for him to crack on.
