Those results don't mean he does anything. I never said he wasn't fast, just that he's boring.

Admit it, he's boring to watch.

Making it look easy isn't the same as boring

sure it is. Boring = not exciting. Easy = not exciting. Therefore easy=boring

bdcheung 05-19-09 06:18 PM

I'll let Levi know he shouldn't quit his day job as a bike racer to be an entertainer.

TheKillerPenguin 05-19-09 06:50 PM

Boring seems to get the job done.

Wow one grand tour stage win. A time trial.

Di Luca has won two in this Giro alone, and both happened to be extremly exciting finishes.

I am sorry, but Levi is not as great as some of the people on this forum are making him out to be.

Levi is an extremly talented cyclist, will he go down as one of the greats, even of American cycling ?

Doubtful.

i don't doubt this statement. i agree with it completely, actually for some riders. however, i remember all of the cadel bashing before the tour last year. does our american friend get a pass? maybe levi isn't as bad as cadel, but he certainly isn't as aggressive as di luca is, and i hear much fewer people complaining about levi. fwiw, di luca is that aggressive because he has to be aggressive to win, and levi isn't that aggressive because it is his best strategy.

bdcheung 05-19-09 07:06 PM

And lance sat on until the last of his domestiques popped. Everyone does what they must to win.

Grumpy McTrumpy 05-19-09 07:09 PM

you would not have liked Anquetil. He was willing to win by one second if necessary.

Oh yes the seven Tour Wins of Lance

Lemond Winning three Tours

Hampsten winning the Giro

Landis winning the Tour.

Hamilton shattering his shoulder and still coming in second in the Giro

Oh yes Levi won the Tour of California three times, and sucked Contadors wheel in two Grand Tours Yep he is one of the greats .

bdcheung 05-19-09 07:47 PM

Landis and Hamilton should not be on that list.

I don't care if Landis and Hamilton had syringes sticking out of them during those events.

2nd in the Giro with a shattered shoulder is beyond comprehension.

And Landis's stage 17 performance can only be comparable to Merckx.

Are you actually this dopey, or is this your BF Stupid Stunt Double?

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who cracks the top ten in world class bike racing results by an American certainly qualifies as an American Cycling Great. I'd say Levi has safely met that criteria.

If you don't agree, I'll take that as further confirmation of the ultimate accuracy of my viewpoint.

Besides name calling, and your man crush on Levi what else do you have.

How can anyone argue with this? When you're convinced you are right, you are unassailable. Ask D. Cheney.

I don't have a man crush on Levi. I have a man crush on Brandy.

What do you have against name calling?

Coming from a Mets fan I should expect a lower criteria.

I have $500 on Levi to win the giro this year, and I hardly ever gamble.

I bet you had a sub-prime A .R mortgage as well.

ZeCanon 05-19-09 08:19 PM

Levi is absolutely a "great" of American cycling. He has a very impressive resume. We have had few riders who can compete like him at the international level.

I'm sticking with my belief that he's boring as all hell to watch though.
