My second lunch ride of the work week is today. I have not a damn clue.
Maybe point my bike in the usual direction, apply a bit of pressure on the pedals, and see what happens.

Haven't been riding much lately, 'tis the season.
Trying to lose weight, so far so good.. got up to 161 somehow, ugh! Down to 155 now, a ways to go.
The trick is to not put fried chicken and lots of mozarella cheese on my salads at work. Oh and no post-lunch cookies too. Who'da thought?

I felt a bit weak at 142. I think next year I will try 150 as I am attempting to replace a bit of upper body fat with muscle, remnants of when I was over 200 lbs.

How do you plan on losing it?
I think 145 would be as low as I want to go; I spent the season at about 153 but have some belly fat to lose. I figure now (not riding much) is a good time to eat less, basically; but I'm sure it's not a great plan.
Less sugar and carbs, keep the protein coming and I should be set, right? I have no idea what I'm doing.. but also don't want to have to count calories or much of anything else.

I lost my original weight through massive amounts of cardio and changing my diet.
My legs are rad but my upper body just looks like a smaller version of my fat self. I think resistance training is the final ticket. I can keep cutting my weight down but I don't think that is quite the correct route for me.

Ooof, body is sore from cyclocrossing with teammates last night. What's encouraging is that I'm better at handling a cross bike than any of the other roadies on my team, and that seems to really help my speed against guys who are stronger than me on the road. On the other hand, my engine starts to run out of gas earlier than I'd like. For fun and cross training, CX season should be good - maybe it'll help that steady-state power a bit.

Really it comes down to quantity and composition of diet. As it stands right now I am down 46 pounds since I started training again. As summer went on I started eating anything and everything in sight to maintain energy levels. Basically I will just go back to a proper diet getting rid of sweets and fatty foods. My wife and I both do diet planning but when my weight really starts dropping the way it did I go into a protection mode and overeat.
When I was getting ready to go pro I weighed 156 which on my frame looks anorexic except for the giant legs but I was not all that healthy at that weight. At 170 I am scary fast and can stay healthy.
In answering your initial question I am back at the gym and working on strength training in the higher rep range (20+) (crap I owe Stein a workout) and will go back to increasing protein. Matt you are correct protein is key.
As I explained to another member I am heading our Elite Team next year so I cannot simply focus on flat out sprint power and will need to be able to lead by example.

as for myself, 67kg would be swell, and i got really close last year. i think all the cortisol from work-related stress is having an unwanted effect. Was hovering ~68-69kg earlier this year until I got sick, and i haven't gotten below 70kg since. I'm trying to counter that with walnuts & flax and other things, oh and no desserts, though i found out i really like Resee's Peanut Butter cups.

I spent much of the summer at 160-162 but I'm up touch due to my recent vacation (2 weeks of eating, drinking, and snorkeling). My wife's family joke that I have a tape worm...the joke has eroded to the point that her cousins just call me 'Worm'.
