Sounds like a more complicated version of EEL 3105 - Analytical Methods, which I'm taking. Definitely not one of my favorite classes...

I am taking ten days off the bike completely. The last time I took more than two days off in a row was July 2010.

Why am I taking the time off, or why has it been so long since I've had some extended rest?

Part two is probably the answer to part one!

My season was kind of funny last year with that random mid-summer vacation and an injury in late summer, so I never ended up taking time completely off the bike (though I did have lots of riding easy/unstructured time last year and this).

This year my training and racing stayed right on track, and I've had this rest scheduled for a while. I'm taking it now because it had to be done at some point this fall, and this week we're going on vacation and not bringing bikes.

3 hours easy yesterday, and an hour on the trainer this morning. I'm taking 3-4 days completely off of the bike this weekend to visit NYC.

my ride was cut short this morning...these rubino pro's are glass shard magnets. Did I mention how much I hate them?

Went for a base ride, but violated the plan because: 1) I am weak-minded 2) I installed the Strava Android app and had to go try for a top five on a KOM

<sigh>

At least it was only 4:38 spent above my planned target (nearly 2x...). The rest was base.

2:15 of Z2 with three 5' spin drills (125+ rpm).

Legs were lethargic, due to (I presume) the calorie deficit I'm running. I did the exact same ride last Saturday - same route, same weather, same drills, same time-in-zone - and averaged exactly one MPH slower today. I may be taking this weight loss thing a little too seriously.

I'm kind of looking for new training tires, too. Has anyone tried Michelin Lithions?

So, I guess you won't be getting an Rx for a testosterone supplement.

I'm using Vittoria Zaffiros. They ride like cement, handle just fine, and wear like iron.

yeah, actually I had a pair of those a few yrs ago and they were good tires. They held up for a long time. I still have one of them hanging in the garage as a 'back up'.

2:45 z2, great afternoon - glad I waited instead of going in the wet this morning! Planned on 3-3.5 but decided to cut it the time back a bit as I am a bit sore from yesterday and I want to be able to get my second big gear workout in tomorrow

Getting the degree is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition. Just sayin'.
