Had a week of having pie for breakfast, Chipotle for dinner, and oreos for everything else. Only gained 3.5 pounds so the damage is containable. Back on the wagon this week.

But yeah, I have an unsophisticated palette and I like junk food and other food that typical 18 year olds like. But I'm not a tween, that ends at age 13.
there you go again, revealing how clueless you are about "ethnic" foods.

It took me like 5 months to lose 3.5 lbs. You're probably mostly salt/water up now, so still no big deal.

I never said it was "authentic" eggplant parm. It was labeled on the menu as eggplant parm. If you're going to accuse someone of being clueless, blame Charles Street Market in Baltimore.

What is Chipolte?

I gained 4-5kg over my holidays (2 weeks), but I think a lot of it must have been water weight or something as a lot of it came off. I am back down to 95kg and trying to keep pushing down to 92kg.

My wife thinks I'm nuts, especially when I was weighing my Dahl and rice last night!

Does this mean that I'm unsophisticated too?

I love cheesesteaks and pizza place parms and meatball subs and those sorts of delicious things. I ate a meatball sub at the end of my 70 mile ride a few weeks ago and it was full of awesome.

And a 4 hr ride is a great excuse to eat deep fried food. Provided you hit your protein, carbs, and fats right your body's going to absorb it all.

Delicious food is delicious.

He's a damn college frosh in friggin' baltimore. What do you want him to do?

I didn't eat well at all in college, and ate cafeteria food most of the time because I was broke and couldn't afford to eat out when my friends went. The only reason I started eating well sophy and jr year (and fell apart senior year) was because I had a kitchen and I liked to experiment cooking.

On the experiment cooking note. I cooked dinner for a housemate and 2 friends on saturday night. I cooked chicken breast stuffed with spiced apples. It was a delicious fall meal!

Devote some intensive research to finding a quality sub place that does not give him a soggy roll. It's impossible to survive college without a quality sub joint. At least that was true in the barren wasteland of Syracuse.

You people are absurd. I know plenty of good sub places, but I had never eaten here before and everyone said they were good so I wanted to try it out. Not to mention it was real close to my dorm and I can use dining dollars there, so i didn't have to pay out of pocket.

Now you know it wasn't good. Like I said, research. Yelp is also a good resource. That being said I do understand the monetary concerns.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely want to branch out and find some nice places to eat other than the normal college hang outs. Time to do some exploring.

Good plan. I wasn't trying to give you crap. It is possible to eat well and eat cheaply. And it's much easier in a fairly large city.

If I want to eat healthy, the dining hall is actually a great option. I do want to venture out for better food though. There is a great breakfast/lunch place (Miss Shirley's) a few miles away, but it is a little expensive on the student budget.

ooh almost forgot dessert. Cracked open a bottle of homebrewed mesquite semi-sweet mead, around 11% alc... Perfectly clear and tastes good enough for me to want to wear viking horns. Burned 1000+ cal on the trainer earlier so why not?

Grilled Dorado smothered in home made roasted pepper and corn salsa on a bed of cous cous with a mexican style spinach salad and an Italian wine.

It's a mix of cultures that really worked.

Indian takeaway night again tonight, but planning to NOT eat as much as last week.

Don't know if weather will be good enough to ride it off tomorrow!
