Good luck tomorrow. I've got to be at work around the time you'll be lining up with a number pinned to your kit.

I'm in the low 200s.
similar to nate -
in the latest iteration I'm:
a small guy, wearing a bird-beak hat, wearing a singlet that takes 5' to get in, riding a big wheel up front, having spent time practicing the "bend over & hold it" technique.

I can break the hour with 200 watts, but I weigh 120 and have done basically everything I can to make my position and equipment as slippery as possible. I'm actually trying to do it under 200, but I can't quite get that slippery.

WR: that looks like a pretty decent position for a big guy, actually - how tall are you and how much do you weigh?
I finish my base in 2 weeks - plan to give it a go with my 240FTP and see what sort of numbers I come up with it, and then have a real crack in September.

252W for 25.8mph. 215lbs/6'6" - so even though I think I have a pretty decent position (currently on a modified road bike), I probably have a relatively high cda.

The limiting factor is going to be the fact that I need to have my elbows outside my knees. I have long legs/short torso - no way to avoid elbow/knee overlap unless I go for a Superman-style position, which I dont know that I can hold for an hour (I get cramps in that position after 4-5 min).

I averaged 289 watts for an 18 minute TT effort 3 years ago and only averaged 22.3 mph. I'm not very aero. I wonder how much faster I would have gone had I weighed 10 lbs less? It was a flat as a pancake course, big headwind going out, big tailwind on the return.
I can get my position more aero, but I can't do anything about my wide upper body (shoulders).
