+1. GC has been riding well this entire season. well done

and i'm just glad that it doesn't sound like the BF participants are all unhurt, and speedy recovery to the people who did take a tumble

Not sure what started it but heard a bang and three guys were down in the road. I missed the first, locked up my brakes but hit the 2nd guy going pretty slowly and flipped over him. The first guy was a bit up the road and I didn't see him moving and one of the chase cars was with him. Another downed rider and I were trying to help a rider who was lucid but bleeding at a good rate from nose and forehead. The guy I tumbled over was in pain holding his shoulder - hopefully not because I ran into him. I got off lucky tried to ride again after about 10 minutes but found I broken the back of my pedal so I couldn't clip in. Rode slowly back to town.

Hope those guys are ok.

scary way to start the season.
Jeez, Sorry to hear about that man. Good thing it was just the pedal though, could have been alot worse. I try and look at it in a positive light and say that the bad luck is all out of the way. It was like when I got a flat on Wednesday commuting to work, I told myself that therefore I would be graced with no Battenkill flats. It worked, I guess.

Hope that those who were in the crash are all okay, thoughts go out to them tonight.

I was around in the expo area after the race looking for all of you.

After eating pizza and shivering for a while I went back to the car. Congrats to all.

looks like the 45+ was significantly faster than the 35+

45+ winner won solo by 3:20

that's ****ed up.

There was a big crash in the cat 1 race so I figure the cat 2 and one of the cat 3 and the 35+ race were stopped for the ambulances.

Fred not only won solo, he took off soon after the bridge and was never seen again. His attack on Perry Road puts his strava time on that faster than anyone, any year, including the pros.

Our race would have also been 5' or so faster but the first five miles was pretty much a tea and cookies ride (as opposed to last year where it was flooring it from the start)
