Hey, anyone who raced cross or trained outside through this NE winter (dnuzzomueller knows what I'm talking about) should have a comparative advantage. Plus it will be nice not to have to carry 3 bottles.

gsteinb FWIW my house is equidistant from NYC and Cambridge NY. And snow on Whiteface is as relevant as snow on Rainier

Not really, no. 100 miles north, is 100 miles north. And since I have a house here I'm telling you April snow in the Champlain valley is common place. That you want to argue that simply means you think new paltz is further north than it is.

Heavens there's still snow on my yard.

You said the gunks were closer to NYC than Cambridge, but in fact it's roughly equidistant. It's hardly worth fighting about though. We got snow last April here, actually.

From what I can tell the source of this "argument" is that I said I lived nearby when in fact you have a vacation house even closer. You are welcome to claim the local cred honors. I shall decline to continue the back and forth.

not really a summer house, and nothing to do with 'cred' (more about weather charts) but bygones.

Rode the course Monday, roads are in great shape. There was a few spots of loose gravel but nothing bad. With some rain this week and more traffic they will be even better for Saturday. Looking forward to the race, but also looking forward to getting it over with because it's on my mind too much. And I'm only a Cat 5 beginner lol

I kind of wish it would rain/snow and be super cold race day. Been training in that crap all winter anyways. I'll talk a mild and sunny day though and won't complain!

Don't say that man, I'm so done with this winter...and I do a lot of winter activities. I'm ready for warm days of just wearing my normal kit and the hot sun...

It finally finally just is starting to get warm down here. This has been the first week no leg warmers have been required. Not too much longer for you guys!

Hey, northerners ride inside all winter long! I'm the one actually outside all winter because it's borderline weather that's rideable in.

Not really. Around February cabin fever gets bad enough that you'll see a fair number of people out on the road while it's snowing.

Hope everyone is ready to get dirty. It has been raining since yesterday, and is supposed to rain all day today. And it's currently 34 degrees here. Supposed to be about 55 tomorrow in Cambridge, but mostly cloudy. A stark contrast to last years TOB...
