Yesterday when I got back to the car after my race, my wife told me there was a guy who went on a 30 minute tirade. He was standing few feet away, and was making some pretty insulting comments about women. Once she told me what he said I started hunting the guy down to talk to him. Never found the guy, which was probably for the best. After talking to the wife about it more it seemed like his comments were directed at one of the female pro's (which doesn't make it any better).

Serious flu body aches. I’ve never felt this before. And I have very little temp to report now, nor sinus issues, nor sore throat. Very dehydrated and my quads are in constant charlie horse mode. WTH?

There are dicks in every walk of life. Unless you are a spectacular mesomorph, it's best to let it be.

Anyone else get done with a hard weekend of riding/racing and pound your legs (literally) as a sort of self-massage? I start showering and I just take a break mid shower to start punching my legs lol.

Most of my friends couldn't give 2 s***s about cycling. On the other hand, I give 2 s***s before many of my races.

My back has been killing me since Wednesday. I'm not really sure what set it off, but it has been rough. I was walking the dog, when all of the sudden, I felt pains shooting down my right leg. I nearly fell over.

I got on the trainer later that night, and every few minutes, I'd get the shooting pains. I haven't been on the bike since, even though I was snowed in and could have spent plenty of time on the trainer. The strange part of it is that my flexibility does not seem to have been affected at all.

Anyway, I found a new chiropractor and am starting to get better. The last chiro would just look at me and give me an adjustment. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not so much. Lately, I hadn't found much relief from her efforts.

The new guy, however, is part of a chiropractic/sports wellness/physical therapy office. He is more interested in fixing the root problems, strengthening my back muscles and preventing recurrence. He gave me a very small adjustment and spent more time doing massage work and then gave me some exercises to do at home. I'm optimistic this will work.

Oh, and the knee isn't bothering me anymore.

As I've become more experienced and more relaxed/less nervous before races, the need to evacuate beforehand has... declined somewhat. I did do a cross race in 2012 though, where I should've gone before hand and by the second lap I had to poop so bad I was wondering if I was going to end up looking like the course was a lot muddier than it actually was, if you know what I mean. There was a porta-potty set up literally right next to the course after the S/F and I was eyeing it every lap wondering if I was going to have to hop off and make a dive for it. Luckily, my colon ended up settling down a bit, and so did I. Got 3rd in that race.

Sciatica? Sounds a bit like that. Good luck!

According to a co-worker, if you have a little kid, don't let him play with your smartphone, especially if you have it set to "wipe it clean" after 5 failed login attempts.

I don't know about you guys, but I keep a roll of TP in my car as well as a section in my race bag. I've encountered too many Porta-Potties without TP.

I forgot to post this but I just remembered.

I was on a club ride 2 weeks ago and one of the guys was carrying chain lube with him in his jacket. I asked another friend what the purpose was, because I only apply the lube once every couple of weeks. Why would you need to do it mid-ride?

I was dumbfounded. Someone explain this to me!

He's secretly squirting it on the tires of his competitors so they wipe out and he wins the all important club ride.

Maybe he had some gu or something inside. That'd be kinda funny to clean out a chain lube bottle and put something else in it to freak everyone out hahaha.
