That's a very good point. I guess none of my training partners are TT/climber types, so I've never worked with such a profile. Closest I've seen is an all-rounder.

You folks are weird.

I'm not sure why I've never considered a graph that goes up. I read about it in Training with Power, then never saw it, and dismissed it, I guess.

1.5hrs. on the MTB. Just found out that there's gonna be a new week night crit series this year. Industrial park, pretty close. Only bad thing is that it's pancake flat.

See Fudgy's profile.
Mine is straight across, so far.

For some dumb reason, I had it in my head that everyone should be able to get 1' up to their FTP row. Nope, no bias here. Hmmm-mm.

My profile is similar to yours but all the numbers are lower haha.

It baffles me how people can only hit 450W for 1min but their FTP is like 380...

My whole body wants to explode at 380W after about 3 mins...

I have 1min as my highest as well. Though the more I went on, the more towards all-rounder I went. Mostly because my 1min stayed put but my 5min and 20min increased.

Mine is an inverted V, the pursuiter profile. I am trying to make that work for my racing by being the guy who leads out the leadout, if possible.

One hour of 105 cadence, the last 15 minutes at 115. Power Z1/Z2. HR Z3/Z4. Not sure how to score this one...

When I first got my PowerTap a few months back, before I was "acclimated" to short interals, my 1' was 3 to 4 GROUPS below the other times haha. It feels like... like a really really short ftp interval with a mini sprint at the beginning to get the AP up lol. I had done 400s at the track (running) but just couldn't do it on the bike. Actually, my 400s were pretty bad also.

When I do my short 5s or 1m intervals its usually on a loop where I descend into a 135 degree turn and just hammer up a 4% grade. It does a pretty good job of simulating a race environment (having to hammer the turn because the guy in front corners like an old lady) but I'm still trying to figure out the optimal way (spin up, cadence, etc) to generate that power for 60 seconds. I tend to either gas out at :30 or have too much in the tank at 1 minute.

I'll concede at this point the anti power guys are right, the 1 minute stuff doesn't matter if you don't have that short burst to stay on wheels after surges.

2x20s. 10W higher than last time, same power for each. This is a good sign.

(feel nauseous now)

Sounds about right. Gas out at 30", then scream in pain and long for death for another 30". But it's so hard to see the time on the computer with demons ripping out your eyeballs.
