Completely blew off the Saturday hammerfest after I noticed it was only 30 out. It is supposed to get in the 50's by noon so I'll go out and do some intervals then.

2x15 last night at ~89% (based on the ftp number I got from the 8 minute test the other night). Seemed about right, heart rate got to just above LT and the effort felt right, so I will stick with this number for now

4.5hrs with 3x15min high tempo with 3min rest between efforts from 1:45 to 2:30.

Was supposed to be 5hrs, but the weather report was wrong about the time the snow was starting and I spent the last 30 miles trying not to die. Still, 200+ tss despite having to ride the brakes like half the time during the 3rd and 4th hours...

Spectrum hammer ride this morning, good times. Cold out but tried to go hard to keep warm.

Legs super tired after the first week of Build.. (100+ TSS daily).

Sac river ride. Huge group today, made it a bit more challenging to do work. Drove to the start instead of riding and forgot my helmet, luckily the shop gave me a sweet loaner.

Team ride with some race simulations. 5 hours total, 306tss. Gigantic for me.

Whoa. Best 5 sec. power for me than in all of 2014. Where did that come from?

It's really hard for me to dig deep when it's 25 degrees out, very excited for next week when morning temps are back to the 40s.

I'll be going a bit harder next week then a recovery week. Feeling like a capable cyclist again lately.

Yeah, given that a typical week for me is in the 500s, it's huge. I normally do the juniors ride with my son on Sundays. It's going to be embarrassing when I'm wheelsucking a bunch of 10 year olds.

Legs have been dead for two weeks. started off sore today but did 3 x 20's and then the last bit of Sufferfest Blender. Killed it. 175 TSS, ready to start build on Monday.

I didn't go again this week. Just got back from 4.5 solo ride, which included getting kind of lost on some bike paths, which really killed the average power for the ride.

Good luck with that. After the chest pains and other side effects I'll never take it again.

4 hours, 2.5 outdoors, 1.5 inside. Outside was with a couple of teammates and very much on the low side of Z2. Made up for it with an hour of tempo on the trainer.

Ten 1 minute intervals, mixed in with 3 hours of riding, 200 TSS, 1600 kj's. Everything else is coming along nicely but the one minute power is lacking. It is getting better, but is about 70 watts shy of where I'd like to be when race season starts. Power may not be everything but there are still numbers needed to hit to win races, and I'm close but not quite there.

70 sounds like a lot but considering I really don't test 1m power and haven't been fresh in weeks, I can get close in the right situation.

Spectrum ride this morning, 2 hour group ride, 0.87 IF; 2:45 total. Didn't go for the sprints today, instead made it a fartlek and rode hard at the front when I felt like an interval.

when does your race season begin? so hard to bust out a top 1'#, IME, when it's not in a race/when you don't have a tiger chasing you.

you know your #s and i don't, and i agree there is a minimum one needs to be competitive...but i find repeatability to be more useful than absolute peaks.

Next week, we will see how it goes. I crack going all out at around 40-50 seconds. I've been working on extending it. What I have is repeatable, but not much better than my 5 minute efforts.
