Who knows. Coach's orders. Why do one race when you can do two?

If you're a three why not do more than race? Plus, the 3/4 is hardly an easy race there.

I thought so, is there some thought that it won't happen? I am looking forward to the Albany crit, that's a no driving needed race.

It's a science experiment. I've got orders as far as tactics go (IE, don't be an idiot). Additionally, I've trained entirely differently this winter. Finally, it's sort of just another training day sandwiched in between volume before and after the races end, and coming the day after a 2.5hr ride. Speed work (assuming I don't get my ass dropped), with later goals in mind.

One never knows with a new series. The promoter is a professional so they are more likely to cancel due to low turnout than a club sponsored race.

Ah ok, I wasn't aware it's new. Hope it doesn't get canned, and if not maybe we'll run into each other.

1 hour EASY, 68w AP/88w NP.

88 rpm avg, peak 10-sec rpm was 168! (tho the PT doesn't have that accurate of a cadence sensor built in)

Spent 30mins on the rollers today trying to stretch out the steel cable in my left leg some might call a hamstring. My body wasn't prepared for the effort I put out yesterday.

I'm going to sit out the saturday hammerfest groupride tomorrow and train my socializing intervals instead.

It doesn't have any cadence sensor built-in. If you're not using a PT crank sensor for cadence, then it's using a firmware algorithm. It senses the pulses in torque and calculates a cadence that way. At low power, it's possible that you had a hop or bounce in your stroke that was outside their pre-determined threshold and caused an extra pulse for each stroke for a few rotations.

You're right though, it's not that accurate

Hill repeats this morning. I have to get use to this 6AM riding shenanigans my buddy is trying to get me to adhere to. The sunrise made it worth it.

25.5 mi, 3,500ft elevation. Mostly Z2-3, with one strong effort. Tomorrow is a club ride to keep the legs loose for Sunday's road race: Merco.

Last race in the 5's. I know, I'm sure you're all very impressed.

Getting up by 5am is tough and staying in bed almost always seems like the better idea at the time. Getting in a good workout by 8am is an incredible feeling though. The surge of energy usually makes me hyper-productive most of the day and I sleep like a baby that night.

I'll admit...I don't do it often unless it's july and I'm trying to avoid the inevitable 100* heat that scorches the pavement by noon.

I'm a big fan of riding at that hour too. Where are you doing hill repeats? My office is right next to San Bruno Mtn so that works pretty well for my interval work.

It is quite nice to ride when the city is still sleeping. We did Twin Peaks loops this morning.

San Bruno is another one of my favorites. The top of Radio Road at sunrise/sunset is fantastic and the descent down the West side is fantastic if it's not a massive headwind.
