Same here, except these are my kids. And one is sitting on my desk right now looking at me.

Just signed us up for Mystic. I see Mikey is in already. Pre-reg closes on Thursday which is unusual.

If the race director doesn't have a lot of volunteers, it takes a long time to prep the registration paperwork. See you there. Looks like another tough day of judging with mixed fields on the course at the same time.

I completely missed the Mystic pre-reg. Wasn't sure I could make it anyway, but I have to figure a 2 hour drive is an ok bet with 30-35 people registered for 75 person fields.

Looking forward to it. Are they combining women 3/4 and women masters fields with less than 15? Less folks signed up for the men's races but they are some fast dudes.

That is always a race day decision by the CR.

Quabbin. How climby is it really? People keep telling me it's not very climby but I watched some helmet cam videos and it sure looks like 10 minutes of up at the end.

I rode the course today. Its about 4800 feet. The steepest climb is the lead up to the finish, which hits 14%. The rest of the course is rollers, small, medium and large. There is maybe 3-4 miles of flat. The rest is either up or down. It grinds you to pieces.

What shovel said. The thing about riding out there isn't necessarily big climbs (though there are a few), but the relentless rolling hills really sap you. And then there's a medium long climb at the end.

p12 or masterz 35/40+ or whatever. haven't thought too much about it. biggest hurdle is i have another race sometime friday, about 10h away. i think i can race, drive, and then race on saturday.

pretty sure both of those have saturday starts around noon, eh? later is better for me.

i will be saying lots of hellos. i will not know whether i'm saying hello to you, though. i'll probably be more obvious as an outsider.

not entirely race-related, per se.... but i'm likely to be kicking around the e coast for a bit in may.

i have some stuff in upstate NY (might hit up that NYS championship RR on 5/15). gotta be in n. carolina around 5/23, maybe earlier. back via albany to VT for KSR 5/28.

haven't fully formed a plan but have a few ideas. any cool stuff happening...like group rides i shouldn't miss, or some race (weekday or weekend) that is going on between NY & NC? i'm open to racing, or maybe i'll just train that week -- or maybe i'll toss out the script and just eat my way through NYC like i did last fall.

thanks for any ideas.

Next weekend there's Quabbin and CYL RR within my sphere of influence. Not much in crit land.

Stas, see you at the fairgrounds!

thanks. had the date down wrong for that.

had wanted to do philly, but there's a 50% chance of rain and I'm driving to the Dacks from there. Quabbin might make more sense.
