Conti GP2k's ride like a 1820's cartwheel, I still at times think there's a flat just because of the ride, however it never flats. Around here, especially in the fall, its easy to flat. My Vittoria's flatted 10x in 240 miles last year, with all the goatheads, used syringes, and crack vials, you need adequate protection.

I'll have a new set mounted in about a week on either a 23-24mm wide rim and I can measure them if you would like.
I've started working with Specialized tires and like them. Currently I'm running Turbo Pros in 23 and 25 and Espoir tubulars in 23. All measure right about the advertised width. I did my first rainy crit with the Turbo Pro 23s and they stuck really well in the wet. I haven't been using them long enough to comment on durability.

If you're interested in trying the road racing tires, check with your local Specialized shop for an upcoming special deal.

lol, the roads around here have been awful this winter and I got tired of flatting 1x/wk. The gatorskins have been bombproof. They don't roll fast but they're faster than having to stop and change a flat.

Oooofff. How long is the restricted period? Will the new place wait?

On the other hand, does that mean there is a job open? Can I send you my resume and you get it on the right desk?

Fun fact #1 : Leon Russell, Susan (S.E.) Hinton, and my stepmom all went to high school together. But my stepmom didn't know either of them because she was a soc, Leon was a greaser, and Susan was, I don't know, a nerdy hyperobservant recluse probably.

Fun fact #2 : I went to high school with the Gap band. Well, we went to the same high school, anyway, but they were about 15 years earlier.

Good: I registered for a race. Three races actually.

Bad: Got a kid home from school today with fever, headache and other flu-like symptoms. This could mess up weekend plans in a couple of different ways. Noooo!!

No!

I hope kid feels a lot better quickly. For the kid's sake, of course.

My three year old s works pump that was never proper even when new is starting to really frustrate me. When I push down the dial will say, for example, 110psi but whoever I pull back up it will drop down to 90psi. I've always assumed the pull-up number was the accurate one but I've never really known. It's also really noisy. Those problems have existed since day one and I've ignored them, but now the head is becoming finicky and I'm ready to replace it.

Cliff's notes: recommend a really nice pump. They have one in the shop that probably is the best but it's $450 before team discount. That's a lot.

You guys complaining that GP4Ks ride really badly are nuts. Either you've got way too much pressure in them or you're confusing them with Gatorskins. I would never say that they're the best riding tires ever, but they're pretty typical for their price and intended use. I've ridden WAY worse tires.

Pedro's Super Prestige. Lezyne Floor Drive. Park Tool PFP-8, which I've had for six years now and still works fine. Though I need to flip the Presta grommet in the head at some point. They have "de-contented" it a bit in the last few years, so the PFP-7 might be a better pick.

If you're really picky about accurate pressure readings, pick yourself up an Accu-Gauge. They're less than $20.

They remember not the halcyon days of Kenda Kontenders coming stock on the Cannondale Caad 7, when men were men and aluminum was not yet looked down upon like a subcompact in Scottsdale.

Are latex tubes really worth the price? I'm intrigued now that TKP mentioned them - they seem to have lots of negative comments online (fragile, expensive, etc).

In my limited experience..yes.

Combined with a wide rim it completely changes the comfort/ride

Until someone says it's anti-gay hate and a judge agrees to hear it.

Actually I realized after posting yesterday that rainbow stripes were not the kind I was thinking.
