do you really want to warm up for a race and then fiddle with your tire pressure? or get part way through and need to ride to the bathroom and do it on 50 pounds? internet solves problems in ass backwards ways. there are rollers with resistance out there. it's not like one is looking for a unicorn.

seems like 300 watts is plenty for a warmup. do your jumps in the parking lot after the warmup.

that's what I do anyway. kreitler 2.5" rollers.

actually I rarely take them to races anymore, to be honest.

@gsteinb just saw the post now, I'll take a pic tonight. it's a good solution for like $15, and if you don't want the resistance for any reason you just slide the magnet back like 3/8 of an inch.

Last night I was That Guy on the group ride. Sat at the back for 90% of the ride, took a few pulls for show, but mostly hid until the last K. A buddy lept off the front with 700 to go and I just sat on the chasers until they gave up. If someone had yelled at me, it would have been fair, but no one did. I guess I've built up enough group ride capital to do this occasionally.

My move last year was to hammer the first sprint point on the Folsom Ride and then blow up in a blaze of sadness. Trying to be more conservative this year.

Also, we got stopped by the local sherriff last night for not riding single file down the road in "HIS COUNTY!!!". He let the 38 or so of us go on our way after he got his rage induced speach out. He then chased down the two guys that u-turned out of there when he pulled us over and gave them tickets for running a stop sign.

I didn't catch his name, but since he said it was his, I assume it was Mr Placer himself.

Waiting for my delayed connection to Tulsa and picking out the bike racers. Some are easy, like the guy in the team polo shirt and the dude whose skinny arms can barely hold up his iPhone.

Did you shave your aero beard? If so, then you are no longer Mr. Incognito.

I've watched about 45 Golden State Warrior games this season but am passing on the Finals; first 2 games were just too stressful so I'm recording it and watching if they win.

Haven't met a sheriff yet who wasn't on some kind of power trip.

Look on a bright side at least he didn't fall a sleep at a wheel and ran you guys over like the one here did.

Do you have a sense of much additional, uh, resistance that creates? What's the wattage increase necessary to push same gear/cadence? And what size piece of wood is that? I can't quite make out what's going on with the groove through it.
