Caught up in a crash this morning on the Shootout. I had a split second to react and miss most of it but basically tipped over onto the side of the road. I landed a small scrap and my bike is fine. This was my first crash since my big one back in 2014. A mental milestone for me. I really have begun to see how the body heals much faster than the mind, at least for my situation.

Thanks, I didn't perceive any rush of adrenaline, would've helped the chase back on.

Question: I want to hang my bikes using those vinyl-covered bike hooks. I know there's no issue with aluminum wheels, but is this okay with carbon wheels?

this sort of thing?

https://jet.com/product/detail/b1e4b...HQsaAvWo8P8HAQ

I do. Can't imagine what issue would arise.

I suppose it's possible the weight of the bicycle in one spot could take the wheel out of true

Should be fine. I made my own S-hooks out of 12G Romex wire.

Another non-bike question: I'm moving, and have unearthed about four linear feet of LPs I want to record. I'm going to get a turntable that will record directly to my computer. Ideally, I'd like to record them directly to iTunes. Recommended software for this, hopefully free?

Any USB turntable will be recognized as an audio input by your computer. Any recording software will be able to record from that input. There is a lot of recording software out there, ranging from free to very expensive. If you just want to record the LPs directly as wav, flac, or mp3 then your needs are very simple. Sounds like you are on a Mac, which will have Garage Band and probably other suitable software already on it.

(Audio recording software is my day job.)

@gsteinb - I haven't thought that far ahead. Probably Goodwill.

@globecanvas - I'm on a PC running Windows 8.1. I use iTunes as my default music program since I record CDs onto the laptop and then sync my iPod. Hopefully, there's something that helps with the scratches on the LPs. I've got my original copy of the Woodstock LP that went through the two-quarters-on-the-tonearm freshman year of college, plus Led Zeppelin II of the same vintage.

I only have one that might fall into that category - Buckingham Nicks, an album Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks did shortly before they joined Fleetwood Mac. It was a low volume pressing, I forget which label.

If you have a faired wheel (like the Jet 6/9/etc) you wouldn't want to hang by the wheels. The fairings, at least for HED, are super flimsy, hand squish able.
