sadly, most people think any vinyl is worth a bunch of money these days....common pressings in trashed condition, included.
i'm looking at about 40 linear feet of vinyl right now..... tons (literally!) of 50s/60s/70s jazz & experimental.

@gsteinb - I haven't thought that far ahead. Probably Goodwill.
@globecanvas - I'm on a PC running Windows 8.1. I use iTunes as my default music program since I record CDs onto the laptop and then sync my iPod. Hopefully, there's something that helps with the scratches on the LPs. I've got my original copy of the Woodstock LP that went through the two-quarters-on-the-tonearm freshman year of college, plus Led Zeppelin II of the same vintage.

Assuming you have an Apple device, you could pay for Apple Music ($9.99 a month), then digitally download all those records. I would bet that most of it is in the Apple Music catalog.
It's a monthly fee for Apple Music, then you can download anything you want.
Maybe (paid) Spotify would be the same deal, dunno.

Spotify and all the other streaming services pay the artists fractions of a cent per 30-seconds of a song played, so no they don't steal the music.
That said most artists don't like how it works, since they need A LOT of plays to get much money out of it.
Steal away if you wish, but Spotify is not "stealing".

In practice I am too lazy to actually learn what new music is good and listen to it. I have been using the apple streaming radio to hear some new things.

Got a Retül bike fit today. Made a couple tweaks: moved the saddle up and forward, shorter and lower stem. But that was it. Worth it also to know my biomechanics (my knees both track slightly outward but in a straight line, so there's no real worry).

I learn new music from pop and jazz station(s) in San Diego. San Diego's Jazz88.3 (San Diego's Jazz 88.3 FM - KSDS) is a great station, that I have dialed to a lot.
One advantage to local radio is that it makes you feel like a part of the community. Any good station will keep you up to date on any relevant public/city info, and the DJ's themselves often become well-connected figureheads of the community.

Some interesting recent injury recovery research.

Local radio is the best way to discover new music IMO.

Most other radio in L.A. sucks. Most of the rock stations have their stupid giggle/chat shows in the morning and then playlist the rest of the day, or 'classic rock' with the same tired 12 songs every day.

I did read the full paper. It is extremely convincing satire.
"Hand boo-boos were induced by placing a favourite object (lovey) of the child just out of reach on a counter behind a heated coil"
"children were blinded to the identity of their kisser by having them place the injured body part into an appropriately sized aperture in an opaque screen"

They even filled out a conflict of interest form. Good stuff. Is it open access? I think I had to go through the library to see it.

Speaking of random things (it is the thread formerly known as the random thought thread after all), this guy just broke the longstanding record for most miles cycled in a year. He still has a couple of days left in his 365 and will probably get to 76,000 miles.
The back of my envelope says he burned close to 3 million extra calories in the process, which cost in the neighborhood of $5-10k worth of extra food.

I think one of your teammates was down there last week riding with the guy.
I can't imagine even driving 75k miles in a year. It looks like he did most of it on like a 4 mile loop too?!?!
