edit edit - what are you an ebay powerseller?? , you gotta look at both sides. Sure ebay is a contract to buy an item, look at how many contracts are broken all the time.
Some people are relying on that stuff to sell on a given date so they can use the money for things that may be more important. I've had it happen to me and it royally pissed me off. I called the winning bidder at home, called them at work, found out what company they owned, found out the bidder's parents home number and called them, all sorts of crap you can do with search engines. Basically made myself a thorn because that's what the bidder did to me...only he thought that "it wouldn't matter all that much". I knew that the item would sell for a certain amount and knew to expect that amount within a general time frame to help cover some expenses...then some idiot comes and jacks with your livelihood.

If you don't want it why bid?
