That would be entertaining around here; it seems that none of the gas stations in the area can comprehend that 7-8AM and 5-7PM aren't good times for deliveries (especially when the truck blocks half their lot) or inventory. (meaning that only the trainee is working a register while everybody else is counting dusty $4.99 bottles of generic aspirin)

And other eye-witnesses (plural) say the light was green. Not turned green. And witnesses (plural) say they were driving/riding. Not stopped.
Humans see and remember things differently, particularly tragedies.
Which is why investigators interrogate witnesses - (plural).
The police issued the citation to the truck operator. So can we start learning from what *happened* here rather than learn from what *didn't* happen here?

Sanders, violated numerous traffic laws, including driving too fast for conditions in the share lanes that day, failure to slow down as he approached the intersection and failure to keep a proper lookout as he made the turn to ensure that the truck was safely clear of the bicycle.
Surveillance video from a nearby business captured the horrific crash, said attorney Bob Clifford, whose firm is representing Kondrasheva's family.
"What's very clear from the footage is that the driver just makes a right-hand turn and plows over this young lady," Clifford said Tuesday.
Following the collision, the driver, whom Chicago police didn't name at the time, was cited for failure to exercise due care around a pedestrian.

Ok. I would not think they would release that surveillance footage to the public until the trial.

There is no surveillance video in the link, just the news footage from the scene after the accident. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Hopefully will bring awareness to bicycle safety at a minimum, and harsher penalties for the truck driver if he is as negligent as the victim's attorney claims.

Both Westmont Interior Supply, owner of the truck, and Andre Sanders, operator of the truck, are named in the ciomplaint. Further, I am thinking Westmont is a subsidiary of EMJ.
I wonder if and how the letters LLC come into play as far as the company is concerned.
