Gotta say... having just seen even that ancient video**, that is one hellatious ride.
** noted as from the 2nd ride in 2004... really? the "2nd" ride... I'd bet folks had been doing this longer than that. I used to ride the downhill portion of our local Park Blvd (in front of the zoo) hands free back in the late '70s... this Zoobomber stuff ain't that new. The name maybe... but not the concept.

I don't know about all of Germany. But in Berlin, the majority of bike lanes are ON the sidewalk. The system seems to work pretty well (pure ancedote). But it is fairly logical to assume that will vastly increase the number of bike-ped collisions over a system where the bike lanes are on the road.
