Sikk ufo ?
I live on the beach and was thinking of getting a beach cruiser, I was wondering what folks thought of the SIKK UFO?
FAT TIRE BEACH CRUISER | sikkinc.com
I searched the forum and didn't find much on this particular bike, and I can't find much info on their web site.
I saw the Tommisea Fat Sand Cruiser at an LBS but it was more than I wanted to spend..
Any thoughts, alternatives, advice appreciated
Thanks in advance!

For the money these bikes look to be fairly priced with a reasonable warranty.

I really like the way they look, but if 4" tires are overkill, then I have way more choices.
Is there is a general rule of thumb regarding tire width on beach cruisers?
Thanks again!

Silly question, but what do you consider deep sand? i.e. when are 4" tires desirable?

No rules. It's just that 4 inch tires and rims are a lot of masss to spin. More work than needed on hard surfaces. Hard packed wet sand can easily be handled with regular baloon tires (26 x 2.00-2.235). The 4 inchers would help you stay afloat on sand like volley ball court stuff. The kind that requires some work to walk across, and snow.

After you do that, go to a LBS that carries fat bikes and test ride a 4 incher around the parking lot for comparrison. You'll know which is right for you then.

looks like same tires and rims from the mongoose beast. I bought one when they were 200 bucks and it was a gateway drug to a fat tire with more mountain bike geometry and gears than cruiser. I'd guess that bike is going to weigh 45 lbs at the least, probably closer to 50.
riding on loose sand is going to be doable but a lot of work with that bike.

Don't really know bout the UFO but you could also check out Soul Beach Cruisers. Tempe, AZ. The wife and I jst bought a couple of Halos while on vacation there. Good guys and excellent customer service. They have a "Stomper" Fat Tire Bike now. Looks good.

that's what i was thinking. assuming equal quality, at half the price i'd go that route, unless you just want the curved tubing. even more prefered and still less that the sikk, i'd probaly get a mongoose dolomite for the gears.

Go checkout Walmart and Academy as well, when I bought my PJ I saw a few of those massive tired cruisers at both stores. Might save you some money too. Man, but they DO look like they would have a great and cushy ride as well!
