soft hammers,mallets
I have to bang my MTB fork to seat it over the new bearings I put on the head set (Cannondale F700) and would like to know what type of hammer to get.Any suggestions?

Flat scrap of wood, any hammer.
Edit: I assumed you are installing a headset in the head tube. If you are installing the crown race on the fork then read the next post. Sorry if I was confused.

You don't want to hit the fork with the bearings in it. Are you trying to seat the bearing cups in the headtube or the crown race on the fork?
