mixing and pushing lower gears
Looking for a bit more lower gears for hilly climbs due to old age and was wondering if this combo could work on my bike. Currently I have the SRAM Apex group (10sp, 36/46, 11-28). I swapped the inner 36T ring to a 34T but its not quite low enough.
First, can the Shimano cassette work with my axle (SRAM doesn't make a 11-34T cassette)? Second, can I push this medium cage rear derailler rated for only 32T max to use this 34T cassette? My other option would go with all SRAM 11-36T with a mountain bike long cage derailler. This might be too low and too much spacing between gears. I could stay with 11-32T cassette but not sure if that is low enough.

Any other options to consider?
