Why does felt include this chain plate protector?
I'm building up a Felt F1, and I was just wondering why their carbon frames all come with a stick-on metal chain plate protector. I've never seen it on any other make of frame (haven't seen a ton, but still)

Just wondering. Anyone know?

Both Trek and Specialized have those plates, pretty common.

I think it would be foolish NOT to have one of those on any CF or aluminum frame. No matter how perfectly adjusted your derailleur is and how awesome a rider you are chain suck can happen and may put a hole in your frame. Only frame materials I would not install a chain protector on are steel and Ti.
