Carbon ding from chain - problem?

Brand new Diverge that was set up fairly poorly from the bike shop. In my experience, it's better to be conservative with those limit screws during the break-in period. Sure enough, the chain jumped and wedged between the crank and the frame causing this damage. Is this a problem?

I'm guessing of the thousands of carbon bikes rolling out there, that this must happen to dozens of them every single day and that there'd have been much more in the way of protection if this caused frames to compromise. Should I have it checked out? The place I bought it from is a couple hundred miles away. Otherwise I was just going to pick up some epoxy to cover it and place a protective sticker there.

Not certain what your downtube will allow, but I always fit a chain catcher to my bikes, like this: https://n-gear.com/orders.html I run spoke protectors in back, too, I am a belt-and-suspenders kind of guy.
Nothing spices up a ride like digging a greasy chain out from where it has gotten itself jammed.

No problem.

Forget about epoxy and stickers. Ignore the scar and ride on.

I agree with Tim. It's irritating, but only cosmetic - and not in a visible spot, even.

Thanks all, I feel better and will get a chain catcher. This is after all, a gravel bike and this is sure to be the first of many nicks and dings. First one down!
