Raising the bar

Hey guys,
I just purchased a 2016 Cannondale baby boy 2. It was a dent frame bike so I got it cheap(er than normal). I ride recreational and just started at fordy. Anyways, at the shop I got it from they weren't very helpful. The guys set the seat like all youtube videos say but when I asked about the bar height a young guy started to reach for the bike and I saw the owner shun him off from the corner of my eye, . Lol, anyways I still bought the bike cause it was the largest size they come in and Lebron rode one and he's 6'8. I'm just 6'6 so hey it's gotta fit right..... I'm good till about 20 30 minutes then my ulnar section of the hand starts to hurt. From motorcycle experience I need to raise my bar some. Just realized this is for the fit section, lol. My bad

Tech question:
How do I raise the bar on my bike some? It has
Cannondale Si Urban OPI Stem/Handlebar w/ Si Light, 620mm, 7 deg. and a Cannondale headshok si stem

Thanks guys

Unfortunately with that particular Bad Boy, I don't think there is anything you can do to move the bars up. The lockout for the headshok is in the way for a normal stem riser, and the head tube is a straight 1.5in anyway. Also it's an integrated stem/bar so you would have to replace both even if there was the space. Your only real options are to replace the fork with a regular one, or to maybe remove the fork lockout selector in order to use the appropriate stem riser.

Thanks rumrunn6!! I saw similar products, but there is an adjustment lever that sits on top of the stem to adjust the headshok. It's not just a screw like on the video. That's the problem that I was bumping into.
Hope I'm missing something

Canondale, that head shock, scheme, is an outlier, you may need to contact a Custom framebuilder, or sell the bike and get something that fits your ongoing needs.

There are plenty of handlebar choices that will work on the existing stem that will bring the grips up and/or back (examples: https://www.niagaracycle.com/categori...bars/mtb-riser; choose "sort by price low to high"; most of the riser bars are pretty inexpensive). If the shifters and brake levers end up significantly higher, you might need to get longer brake and gear cables, but it'll be worth it. I've had hand surgery to fix an ulnar nerve problem; that wasn't much fun.

Upon further thought, Trakhak's idea is probably your best option. You will need a new stem as well since the stock stem/bar are integrated. I would stick with a 7* stem so you don't hit the headshok lockout, but a high rise bar will do a lot to bring your position up. And don't forget that you need a stem for a 1.5in steerer tube.

Cool beans Trakhak! That seems right up my alley.

1.5 inch steerer tube, got it Texico

I've put miles on the bike now. Maybe I should've acted sooner, but I just knew it was an easy fix. ........and come to find out it is. Thanks to you guys
