So, I have a Brooks seat I used on my former hybrid. Never noticed a noise, smoother pavement plus it had some suspension. Anyway, transferred it to my gravel bike with no suspension and it constantly creaks on every little surface irregularity. Any suggestions to silence this thing?

Yea leather , riveted on the steel frame does that .. want silent? get a regular type saddle.

I hear ya (pun intended). Too bad though, I do like the Brooks.

Bob, you can drip a small amount of oil at the spots where the leather is rubbing, for a temporary fix. Likely culprits are the nose hardware (tension shackle) and the skirts contacting the saddle rails. If the thought of a petroleum product touching the leather gives you palpitations, you can melt proofhide/other leather preservative for the same purpose.

Over time, it will silence itself, in my experience.

First lube the under side of the saddle and rails. Not with proofide, that would take too much in my opinion to work it into all the nooks and crannies. I use beeswax cut with just enough coconut oil to make it apply easily. Second, master your posture and cadence rhythm; something I can not seem to do.

The leather is giving way stretching and rebounding with the bumps , that is part of why it's comfortable..

I've got two bikes with Brooks B17 saddles. Both are relatively new saddles, <5 years or so. The newer one squeaks, the older one one doesn't . I sprayed WD40 on the post and rail interface. It's better, but not gone. I haven't tried working with the leather to frame connection. I also pulled the seat post and re-greased it. Thanks
