Cyclocomputer not reading
Hello, I have recently came back to cycling and riding again after almost a year, to which my bicycle was just sitting around the garage during the whole time. After changing my cyclocomputer's batteries, it seems to be not reading the riding parameters anymore. Now, before I change it and buy another one, I was asking is if there is any other way to troubleshoot this problem, so as not to waste any money.
So far, I have done:
1. Recalibrating,
2. Readjusting the magnet to the sensors,
3. and also wiping the sensor and magnet itself from dirt, etc.
Btw, the computer itself seems to be running fine after changing its batteries, buttons are responsive, display is fine, etc. Any answer will be greatly appreciated!

You would probably get more meaningful responses if you were to specify the brand and model of computer you need assistance with. Wired or wireless?
Having said that, is there a reset button that you could try?

Yes, I've reset it and recalibrated it as well.

There may be corrosion between the contacts of the (removable) computer with the mount. Pull the computer off of its mount and clean the contacts on both sides.

There are no visible signs of corrosion, but I may never know if there is even if it's a tiny bit. I've wiped them thoroughly as well, do you have any recommendations of cleaning it?

My guess is that the magnet isn't close enough to the sensor. Where is the magnet on the wheel? Toward the hub or toward the tire?

I'd try moving a kitchen magnet in the proximity of the sensor to see if you can get it to "blip".

It is toward the hub, and about 3-4mm to the sensor.

I'm really sorry, but I'm not familiar with that trick haha. How is that? Scrub a pencil eraser on the magnet?
Will try to do!

Based on what you and others have said, I'm guessing the issue is in the contacts. Sometimes the computer can feel like it's well seated into the mount but it's really not. You can have a broken wire even if there doesn't appear to be any damage.

UPDATE: After testing it on a kitchen magnet, it turns out the sensor isn't as sensitive anymore and I had to move the spoke magnet a little bit closer now to the sensor. Believe it or not, I also did the pencil eraser technique, as suggested by Bill, used it on the mount contact and it now works fine (I think it also somewhat helped).
Thank you everyone, all help was much appreciated.

fph123 - It may not be your sensor but the Magnet. They can degrade over time. Replacements are easily purchased.
