will this work for an OCR2 2001?
For all those other poor souls out there with this problem I have the answer for you! Having spent literally 10+ hours and 4 bike shops to get a headset to fit my 2005 Giant OCR you need Cane Creek .HSVPA10 (ZS41/28.6 | ZS41/30).
Another forum said the part is Cane Creek part VP-A01ACG but after contacting CC they said the part number is actually ".HSVPA10". It is not on the website, so don't bothering looking. You can order by calling 1-800-234-2725. The price is $37.39 + $10.41 for shipping = $47.80. Arrived at my house within 3 days from order.
This is from my receipt shipping from NC to New England.
CANE CREEK 1 .HSVPA10 EA 1 37.39 37.39
HEADSET, VP-A10, ZS 1 TO 1 1/8, ZS4128-ZS4130
Also,DO NOT order FSA TH No.11AGY Zerostack 1-1/8" Headset from BicycleHero (ZS41/28.6 | ZS41/30). After waiting days on this part from them I got the headset which was new, with a sticker indicating that it was the No.11AGY headset but it didn't fit. I was baffled and thought I ordered the wrong part because this guy was not going to fit! I bought a digital caliper to measure my bike to make sure I stopped ordering the wrong headset. When I measured the "No.11 AGY" headset from BicycleHero.com it measured at 44mm as shown. Buyer beware.
12-09-14 Update....
Success! I installed the Cane Creek headset last night - fits like a glove! The lower cup has caged ball bearings and the upper cup has a cartridge bearing. I tried the Cane Creek crown race but it left a gap on the fork so I reinstalled the stock crown race which works great with this headset.
In short, Cane Creek ".HSVPA10" headset is well worth the money if you need a 1" zero stack headset! Hopefully, this helped you avert the hours it took me to solve this problem.

Will this work for an OCR 2001? I'm also looking to replace my headset!

same problem in 2018
Hi, were you able to upgrade your headset? I am looking to do the same. I actually went to the bike shop to change my fork for a carbon fork. the headset I previously bought wasnt the right one. However, my mechanic managed to install the fork. I am just looking to get a proper headset. Hopefully you were successful and can post pics

I expect it may indeed work for your 2001, it just worked great for my girlfriend's 2003 OCR. One very important note on the above though:
It seems that dansknewb likely installed his upside down. The headset cup with the removable cartridge bearing is the *bottom* cup as it has the appropriate angles and depth to align with the provided crown race (which is a thin alloy with integrated rubber ridge to help keep grime out). The cup with the non-removable cup and cone bearing is the top, and also aligns correctly with the included top crown race and cap which itself is about 16mm tall and has part # VP-A01ACK on it. If you install the cups the other way around then the included crown race will not properly engage with the bearing (though it seems that dansknewb may have worked around this by installing a different crown race). Also, the cartridge bearing is likely more durable and designed for the higher loads present in a lower headset bearing. I called in and spoke with a tech at Cane Creek to confirm all of the above. They really should provide documentation somewhere, but nothing is available. Hope that helps someone!
