Shimano and Sram, compatible?

I have an early 90's Cannondale R200, equipped with RSX for the moment. Why it was spec'd with a long cage RD is beyond me, but not my question really. I have a set of 7/2 Shimano brifters, and was wondering if they're compatible with Sram as far as cable pull amounts? Logic says yes, but I honestly have no idea. The RD is an ESP 7.0, and I will be using it with a 7 speed RSX brifter, which is not currently on the bike. It has indexed Shimano DT shifters... So...? Will it work?,,,,BD

The problem is some Shimano and some Sram are compatible and some are not. Any answer would be a guess. Try it and then you will know and can let us know too. Roger

On second thought, I think I will take my own advice from the other thread, hehe. I am sitting here looking at the bike, and it looks really sharp with the freshly polished DT shifters.,,,,BD

Now some bar end pods wouldn't be so bad, now would they? Onward to Rivendell
