Looking to turn my 8 speed into a 10 speed
Hi there. My wife pulled my car into our carport yesterday, and my bike happened to be on the roof rack. Most painful sound I have ever heard in my life. It seems as though only the sti shifters were broke, and I am not even sure they are, I just want to upgrade. The bike is a 2006 Specialized Allez comp triple. I upgraded the crankset to an FSA double a while back, and put in a 105 rd last year. MY question is this. Since the bike is an 8 speed now, if I get a 10 speed shifter and 10 speed cassette will the cassette fit in the frame. I was told I could upgrade to 9 speed without any problems, but there seem to be many fore choices for shifters if I go to 10 speed. Thanks for your help.

You will need 10 speed chain as well. Ten speed cassette is the same width as eight speed.
