Getting the burnt-rubber stink out of certain tires...
I've got a sensitive nose. Some permanent markers can trigger migraines for me. Smelly bike tires do the same.
I just got a new set of some special tires. The tires were expensive and are exactly what I want... but they stink... worse than most brands I've owned
I keep my bikes in small apartment and the smell is permeating most of the space. I'm going to have to return them if I can't get the smell out... Does anybody know anything I can treat them with? Giving them more than a week to air out is not an option for me... same with keeping them outdoors (no yard, bad neighborhood)

dang, that's unfortunate. I love the smell. I got some Nokia studded tires that still flavor the garage and they were bought four months ago. Seriously doubt there's anything you could do to age them that won't accelerate the outgassing and make the problem worse. All I can think of is taking the wheels off and hanging them out of the window.
The other option is getting carbon pre-filters for around $19 and cutting it in half, taking the wheels off and putting them in heavy plastic garbage bags. Maybe after a month the tires would be done.

Haha this is too funny. Have you tried rubbing alcohol? I hate the smell of certain bike frames (particularly the BB area) some bikes just have an inner smell. HA!
