Go Pro ?

hey everyone, i was wondering if i should get a go pro camera, ive been watching videos on youtube of it, and i was just wondering, will it really be worth the investment?

it is quite a bit of $$

ps. the best scenery i have where i live is rolling hills, buildings, and farming land.

thanks.

You may want to review the other Forum categories, since camera questions really have nothing to do with Bicycle Mechanics. just a tip

My friend just got a go pro. It's OK. Not worth the money if you ask me. You have no idea what you film because it doesn't have a screen!

Just get something like thishttps://www.amazon.com/Kodak-PlayTouc...969489&sr=1-43

Then make a mount for it and try to find a case for it online.

Alright thanks for the help, I'm not sure I should even really get one, it's most likely not worth it

Bikes: A few.

What do you want to record with it? You want to do helmet cam videos while you ride?

It's a neat camera but certainly has its drawbacks. The one that stands out for me is, because it's a wide angle lens, it's really only good for recording objects that are close to you, rather than distant scenery.

(Shameless link drop, I wrote a GoPro review on my website.)

ill check it out but im looking to just recored my ride, i dont know if theres a cheap camerea out there though because to be honest, theres no scenery but farm land where ill be riding, but i will end up going 145 km to my cottage so if there is something out there that isnt too expensive ill look into it.

also, is it really worth the investment as i said? : "to be honest, theres no scenery but farm land where ill be riding, but i will end up going 145 km to my cottage".

if you have a point and shoot digital camera with video function, just find a way to hook it up to your helmet or handlebar and you are set.
then up0grade from there.

Since this is the mechanics forum, here's how to make one yourself: https://www.instructables.com/id/Bicycle-Camera-Mount-for-under-$1/

I haven't tried that mount but maybe it would work...

Actually I just remembered. My firend bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-FineP...0081635&sr=1-1

It looks awesome and it's dustproof shockproof and waterproof.
It's also a really good camera.
