Using SpokeCalc on Google Docs
I'm using a Chromebook now in my shop and I can't seem to figure out how to make the SpokeCalc spreadsheet work on Google Docs. I've used it for many wheels on a windows machine but no matter what I do on Docs the thing just doesn't work. I've tried having Google "convert" it to the google format and I've tried not having it do anything but upload.
It's broken when I try to access it once it is uploaded no matter what. I've tried to use my old file with all my additions, I've tried it with fresh download of the file from Sheldon's page.
Am I just SOL on this? Anyone get it to work on Gdocs? Must I drag a windows box into my shop just to calculate spoke lengths? Maybe something else works on the chromebook cloud computer?
I thought it would be cool to save my work to the cloud -seems that google isn't thinking of us bike mechanics. Maybe SpokeCalc is such an old format for Microsoft spreadsheets that Docs can't handle it?

I had no troubles using it in google docs. I'm using chrome browser on OS X. I'm also using spokecalc in LibreOffice for when I don't have net access.

Try Open Office. It's free office suite and its spreadsheet program seems compatible with any Exel spreadsheet. Just go to openoffice.org and get the free download.
