flat side of the fork to the frame or part you want to save. it will be fine. the chuck wedges work similar but it uses 2 wedges and the ramp is not so steep. i have been meaning to pick up a set, just need to run to the store and get some

They worked well when most recently a guy brought in

removal. My guess is they will work for you, too.

what is the slot width of the #3? do they clear an isis or octalink spindle?

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I've been suggesting these for over 30 years, and sold a decent number back when I was a regional distributor. I'm almost certain that the #6 wedges are will work on Isis or other OS spindles. If not it's so close that you can easily widen the slot by passing it over the side of a grinding wheel.
