Tools for Bottom Bracket Removal Query
Hello,
Here is a link to the bottom bracket I am trying to remove:
Shimano 600 ultegra bottom bracket BC 1.37 68x113mm vintage
Here is a link to the tool I think I need:
Tools & Repair Kits - Park Tool HCW-5 Crank and Bottom Bracket Wrench for sale in Cape Town (ID:111854953)
+
A large shifting spanner.
------
I live in South Africa hence the .co.za website.
Also any crucial things I need to know before servicing the BB would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You will also need a crank extractor.
Are you trying to remove the bottom bracket (including the fixed cup) or just service it?
Servicing, means cleaning and/or replacing the bearings. You keep the fixed cup (driving side) on the bike and remove the spindle and bearings from the adjustable cup (non-driving side) .
Removing the fixed cup requires another tool
Tools & Repair Kits - Park Tool HCW-4 Crank and Bottom Bracket Wrench for sale in Cape Town (ID:111854952)
A low cost alternative is (scroll down)

Even if you get the Park took, it's a good idea to use the bolt and flat washer to prevent the tool from slipping off the fixed cup.

I got the crank extractor so I'm happy about that.
I would like to take the entire component out.
I think you pretty much answered my questions, thank you very much.
That method with the washer is very cool.
