Budget workshop stands

Hi There,

I'm looking for a stand that's cheap but still functional. Has anybody used either of these?

HOME MECHANIC BIKE CYCLE REPAIR STAND WALL FLOOR OR BENCH MOUNTED | eBay

This one looks good for all-round access, but I wonder about stability with only that one hook around the down tube, although it has supports for the BB and the down tube.

The second one I was thinking I could bolt to the top of a Black and Decker workmate (portable workbench), making the clamp height about 4ft.

Tim

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Both links go to the same bench mounted clamp listing.

Looks pretty light weight. Probably usable for general maintenance but likely going to be wobbly and flex a lot for more serious work. I've seen a lot of home-built rigs I'd trust more than this one.

I just got this one from Amazon based on another thread here along the same general lines.

Robot Check

The frame/seatpost clamp tune wants to rotate some, will try to get some carbon paste from the LBS to give the clamps a little better grip on the tubes of the frame/seatpost clamp.

The stands in your links appear to be made in the same factory as Willbird's link in the post above. Just different colors and clamp knobs & levers.

Not sure what you are really looking for, but I got this one on CL awhile back.

Sorry for all the clutter. It's in my bedroom and works great as a clothes hanger now! I now have a legit stand, but it did work fine in pinch.
