Sorry, no one here named "Dick head". But if you were referring to me, I'm happy to answer your question. You've gone on the internet and asked others to choose a bike for you, and you admit you suck. You also chose a stupid username, and now you want to complain about being picked on for it? The funny thing is, if you had chosen to call yourself "I suck at spelling and grammar", no one would care, as that's quite obvious. You're right that I don't know your age. I can only hope that you're young, and that's why you barely have a grasp on the essentials of good communication. I doubt you're older than 15, probably closer to 13. Now, I have no grudge against you, and you're probably not a bad kid. But if you've spent any time lurking on the forums before posting, you'll notice we seem to give everyone a hard time when they're new. Don't ask stupid questions, and do a search before you ask a question that's already been asked 100 times, and we'll all show you some respect. Unless you're form Modesto.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Yes, my spelling sucks and i know that, it is all AOL Instant Messenger half-assed writing. However, just to make you happy i will type properly. I am almost 17 so you are worng on the age. I am sorry for pissing you off, and i obviously had a bad start in this forum. I've been riding my bike for two years, and i suck theres nothing i can do about it. I practice 5-8 hrs a day. I've ridden 30 miles just to get to a skatepark ( I already know your going to say I didn't ride 30 miles but I know what I did). Of coarse I'm going to admit I suck, I hate when someone hearrs me talking and mistakes me for someone good. I am also a very negative person. I am askin about the the bikes becuase I am looking into bike made by companies I have never ridden and I was just looking for advice. Apparently, this wasnt the right place to come. I'll just go find a new forum, so that you people will be saved from having to put up with me.
Oh and by the way, I hope you enjoy my proper typing, becuase typing like this honestly sucks.
Well I'm out,
Billy

I know guys like to bust on people for helping choose a bike, and sometimes there is quite a push to use the search tool. But......With that said. Today, when I was thinking about possibly getting a bike myself, I thought I'd probably start a new thread when the time comes. The reason is that everyone’s needs are different, bikes change every year. Fads come and go etc. I think letting someone choose a bike for you is kind of lame. But getting advice from people who have ridding the bikes you're looking at is a great idea. I do find it stupid when someone will give advice on a bike they neither own, have owned, or have even ridden. My advice when buying anything though is simple. Ask people who have what you want. Buy from a local dealer. Build a relationship with the owner if you can. It doesn’t matter if you are buying guitars or bikes. You will be back for service, parts and a bike upgrade at some time, and probably recommending friend to buy new from their as well. The few bucks you might save from a catalog or online are not always the best long term value. Getting to know the people that own the shop will usually get you better prices, quicker service, and a network of people that share your interest.

Every bike I have owned since i was three i have bought from the same guy. But latlely, i havent been happy with his work or selection. Haro i will never go with again, they were my favorite company, but two many bad experiences with them. they aint very durable. he only sells haro and felt. i will also not go with felt becuase my friend got one and it only lasted him a few weeks. and sorry im typing bad im just in a rush.
ive been buyin bikes off the guy fot 13yrs and hes just startin to trust me now. im followed around the shop like im going to steal (which i wont). but hes made haro replace over $300 in damage and hes let me have parts and pay back later.

I'm 210lbs and jump on my Haro without breaking or bending anything. I'm not really jumping all that high though, Porbably not comming down more than 4 feet on the flat. I need to extend my table top jump. The only problem I have with my bike is the deelie bob on the end of the brake cable came off, now the cable pokey things scratches up my leg every time I ride. And I forget to do anything about it when I'm not riding, so it doesn't get fixed.

Too much techo babble there, Darin. I got a batch of the little cable tips in different colors, so all my bikes can be color coordinated. It's a worry, isn't it?

I just have to say, nice choice on your name, I know I suck too, but for some people, thinking you suck is the best motivation to get better.... personally, I like WTP, I have not heard anything bad about the company and think theyre nice, well-built bikes... good luck with your bike search and be sure to let us know which one you decide on

well i thik i am probably going to go with a wethepeople. So between the '06 addict or the '06 4 seasons pro ill probably go with the 4 seasons.
Why i like the 4 season pro better than the addict:
-Seatstay brake mounts (for some reason they put the the brakes on the the chainstay on the new addict)
-Smaller gearing (28/10 rather than 36-13)
-Cassete Hub
-Lighter
-integrated headset

Good choice, the 4seasons pro is a sweet bike... good to see you doing your homework too, that'll definitely make the bike more enjoyable... you should post a picture of whatever bike you get too
