That's a cool picture. Great job.

Anytime you add extra glass in front of the lens, it degrades the image, so those accesory 'lenses' more or less suck. Real interchangeable lenses are the only thing that goes in front of the sensor or film, you take the one that's on there off and put the other on.

It's OK to use those with video cameras because there's not much resolution to begin with (HD is less than 2 megapixels, and mini DV is well under 1), but with still cameras it's not really worth it...

What if I snap the lens off and make it a dslr lol.

minichamp31 06-19-07 01:58 PM

That's a pretty good drawing.

MadMan2k 06-19-07 03:13 PM

Damn, that's nice. I wish I could draw.

I used one for a while that was given to a Greek friend of mine by a genuine member of the mafia. Him and his wife went to dinner at this guy's house, and my friend Tom mentioned that he was a photographer. The mafia guy says "Oh, let me show you my camera", and gets his Hassy out. This was long before Tom opened his camera store, and being a newlywed, he mentioned that he loved the camera, and hoped to own one some day. The guy gave it to him on the spot!

Great story, all true. Anyway, I thought they were the bee's knees until I saw the Mamiya RB67. Ten grand later, I had a pretty sweet outfit. Now I hate professional photography. Digital sucks compared to film, and the customers are stupid, and no one appreciates actual skill for the craft. I have a complete studio with Speedotron lighting for sale right now, and all people want is the backdrops and stand. They figure that their built-in GN33 flash is all they need.

I'll go pull my hair out now. Rant over.

To anyone looking for a new digital camera - it doesn't matter what you get, just learn to push the limits of what it can do. I still take my snaps with Madman's old digital Elph, rather than my 10D.

Screwing around with photographic paper and chemicals, painted my name on with fixer and then rinsed it, and spread developer over the area to make it black. And held it up to a light to dry it faster, which made the paper get more of a pink tint.

I want to get some liquid emulsion and try this on some metal oilfield equipment... but I didn't say that.

FuzzyRyder 06-22-07 12:37 AM

Thats dope.

Just a little video I put together today. No real riding, just some shots that worked well in motion rather than still, and the only actor I could find. And a rabbit.

I could have some fun with video if I had a real camera and a real tripod (or just took more time to set up my shots, all the shooting was done in about half an hour, maybe less)

FitRider 921 06-23-07 06:51 AM

Interesting.

KinetikBiker 06-23-07 06:58 AM

I liked it. I also really enjoy those artsy angles that people get at the trails. Like through the trees and inbetween doubles. If you all have trails out there it would probly be fun for you to film stuff.

DK luva 06-26-07 09:02 PM

hehehe burn (ssssss)

FitRider 921 06-26-07 09:05 PM

minichamp31 06-26-07 09:06 PM
