Replacing Tires

Hey everyone,

I had the bike out last week for the first time, being that warm weather is starting to come into my area, and I pumped up the tires, went and did a quick check over, and hit the park for a good ride. I just got back in today from another one, and I noticed that my back tire is wearing not poorly, but a little more than I expected. Maybe it's just me, but it looks wore down a good bit. I replaced them last June before a big weekend at a campground, where I rode every day all the time for 3 days straight, and then rode my bike the most last summer than I did the 3 years I have owned it combined. I did a few skid patches and stuff here and there, but mostly took care of the tires pretty good. My front is wearing fine. but my main question is, for those of you who ride alot and ride hard like myself all summer, how often are you replacing your tires? Thanks!

I ride 4 hours a day ussually, and I run Kenda Kontacts as well, mine have lasted about 3 years, still lots of tread..

mykesbykes,

Thanks for the input man! I really love them Kontacts. After I put them on, I took it down my road and they were SUPER smooth! Way better than my junk stock tires, and it gives the bike a more sportier look too. I still have good tread, I guess it's just my eyes playing tricks on me, or I was looking at one of the parts of the tire where I did one of the few skids on pavement. I will deff. get these tires again for sure though!

Thanks!

Bikes: Mosquito

I haven't replaced mine yet, but my bike (Mosquito) is only 1,5 years old... but when I have to do it I will try to learn it, because last year my girlfriend took my other bike to the mecanic guy in town, and it cost me around 60 bucks!!
