1989 Trek 400 on CL
Hi everyone, found a listing for a 1989 Trek 400 on Hartford CL while looking for a quality, low price steel frame road/touring type bike. Wanted to ask for some help, thoughts on what is a good price and what would be a great price.
asking price is $275, pics show a pretty clean bike, new tires. if as good in person with no apparent issues any idea on a price range for this bike? thanks

It's a decent bike in decent shape. I think as a 400 it might be somewhat overpriced. I don't know what the bike market is like in Hartford but NYC is a hot market and that seems like it might be a bit high even here. I'd try and get it for $200.

IMO, if everything works well I'd go $200-$225, no problem. Even $250, if it is perfect mechanically. In my area (northern NJ) you will not find a Trek road bike for less than $175, no matter what model or condition. Your market should be similar. Take a good look at the cables, and so on. New tires are a plus.
