FS or FT: Stronglight 45 Cottered French crank
Model 45 which is a steel cottered crank that takes the famous 50.4 BCD rings. I do have a set of steel rings that will go with them. I will share photos of them tomorrow. Chrome is pitted but a quick polish with steel wool and Mother's made them look better. An oxalic acid bath would likely improve them more. Definitely rider with patina. If they were French, I would keep them. But I found out the hard way that when the size has an "A" (Anglaise) beside it, it is for an English cottered axle.
I am thinking SOLD shipped in CONUS. If you have a similar set for French cottered axle, I would like to trade. Not real concerned about finding rings if you do not have them as I think I have those in hand from a previous purchase. But my rings can go either way.

Hi Lynn. Teach me, please. What are the differences between an English and French axle?

I'm sure he means "spindle", not axle. But, French cottered spindles have a diameter of 15.5 mm (0.610") and most others, 0.625" (5/8"). So, you can fit an English cottered crank arm onto a French spindle (a little slop, but the cotters tighten up the loose fit), but you can't fit a French cottered crank arm onto an English spindle because it's too small to fit.

Thanks, Mike. I figured the difference was metric v. English measures. Now I know another thing to check on old bikes!

These are sold pending receipt of funds.
