Primus Pump Problem

While getting the 76 Supercycle Excalibur ready for next months "Le Tour de Norfolk", I was putting together a tool kit, tube, and decided to test the frame pump. It worked for a bit and then the end came off the hose! Actually the rubber broke off.

Are these hose assemblies still available or has anyone tried a repair?

The pump is a Primus brand made in Japan and came with the bike which was made by Bridgestone.

Yes, this is a replaceable part - they usually break exactly as yours has after a while . Readily available - here are a few on Amazon. Buy two or 3 if you can as they are cheap. Like your pump BTW!

The woes of the Primus pump! I ordered one on line from California and it ended up costing me $13.79. The pump male thread is a bit large. I found a couple in our local Home Hardware at $3.26 ea and they are identical to the ordered ones.

I would like to find a new classy looking frame pump for 3 of my bikes, 71 Robin Hood, 79 Raleigh DL1 and the Supercycle Excalibur.

Any suggestions?

You can get a chromed steel one at many bike shops, Sunlite brand, 16" long to fit most bikes.

They are cheap and look good and may prove useful as a weapon.
