Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

All I have to say is this is a great eBay listing.

I suspect he is selling the crank because he stripped out the extractor threads.

Wait, wait, wait...that's not how you remove cranks and bottom brackets? No wonder I'm always going through frames faster than my friends are...

I won a Raleigh SuperCourse front fork on eBay auction last year, and this was attached to it (along with headset):

As far as the useful parts go, $19.00 is not bad.

Lately, a couple of noisy ISIS bottom brackets and I have been feuding. So far, they're winning.
The OP's photos sure make me want to do that, send the bb to the mfg with the carbon tubes attached.

It would make a cute display.

However, you could reuse the whole head tube.

The Raleigh badge may be able to be sold on E-Bay, and I don't believe the Nervex Pro lugs are available NOS anymore, so they should be worth at least a few bucks to a frame builder.

I've picked up a couple of damaged frames on E-Bay... hoping to get them rebuilt for future projects.... just a little slow doing that. In many cases, a whole frame with BB, headset, and CF fork will be sold for less than the value of the fork alone... Although the market can be a bit fickle.

I will admit that it is odd, but I'm not surprised to see damaged frames being hacked up.

With the Raleigh, including the headtube guarantees all parts are included, and helps add positive ID to the fork. I am a bit concerned about that spot of rust immediately behind the top lug. It makes me think the frame may well have had front-end damage.

That's good spying, CliffordK. Now that you point it out, I agree there was a front-end collision. But if I remember right, nlerner got good use out of the fork. In front-end collisions, it is common for all of the damage to go to the wheel OR the fork OR the frame and neither of the other two.

Bikes: Raleigh Sports: hers. Vianelli Professional & Bridgestone 300: mine

The guy is probably laughing to think there are people who actually pay good money for this old bicycle junk.

I have it on a shelf at work. One of my colleagues says it looks like a bong.

Actually, it didn't come with a head badge, and the one I put on there doesn't quite match the era of the head tube, but I like the look. I did put the fork on my '69 Super Course as the one original to that bike is a bit tweaked. This one that came with the head tube seems well aligned.

Ok...
We have a Fork
A set of cranks.

Anybody selling a seat post?

I think we'll have enough to put together a whole bike pretty soon

I couldn't agree more with you guys. It's a horrible feeling to have something that's almost complete.
