Is it a Gazelle?
Just puchased this interesting bike at bargain price.
I can't seem to identify it however.
The decals on the frame say it is a Gazelle Champion Mondial. I cannot seem to find a serial number on the bottom bracket.
Does this mean it is not what i thought it was? (never trust decals!)
It has a unique and interesting color scheme that grades from blue to white and silver.
I cannot seem to find it in the online Gazelle brochures and color ranges / serial numbers as given on this site:
Webklik.nl - the original Gazelle Champion Mondial
Please find some pictures attached.
Can anyone please help me identifying this beautyful bike?

Thank you!

I am going to say not a Gazelle. Certainly not a Champion Mondial. The kickstand plate for starters. The fork crown and seat stays are all wrong. Size (AFAIK) on Gazelles are not stamped on the head lugs. Size would be found on the brake bridge. And as you said, no serial. Sorry, someone has tarted this one up to look like a Gazelle.

It could be a Gazelle, they did make bikes with longer chainstays and a kickstand for town use or touring. The font used for Champion Mondial would make it a '79 or '80 model ('79 & '80 catalogs are not available online but 78 had a different font and the '81 catalog shows cables routed through stops on the top tube for the semi race). The Champion Mondial Semi Race is a model that a kickstand and center pull brakes and the decals you have on your bike. My '86 Champion Mondial has the serial number and type of steel used stamped on the bottom of the bottom bracket. Maybe someone filled it in? The fade paint job is not from the factory. The person that painted this bike was not a skilled painter.

From: I split my time living in Limburg, the Netherlands and the Eifel in Germany
Bikes: Many, mostly steel and titanium. Myfirst carbon bike a Kestrel from 1989, failed and since that time I stayed away from plastic bikes.
I'd say correct answers CV-6, I visited the Gazelle new factory today. Sadly no more racers are being made. There were 130 older than 25 years Gazelle bicycles from urban bikes to racers, we were very well received.

hopefully that bargain price was a very good bargain price.

I really do not think that's a Gazelle (not even a low entry model) - all the lug work and seat stays seem off— not to mention the kick stand brace— and, the head badge doesn't appear the be riveted onto the head tube -although the photo isn't super clear. Thank you all for your fast responses! Sadly my gut feeling was right. I paid 25 euros for it, so i still believe that's a good price.
Given chances are low this really is a Gazelle...
Any thoughts on what this bike could be?

For €25 you did well, whatever it is. Clean, lube and enjoy!

It could take a lot of work identifying the bike not even the paint seems original. If you're really up for it:If there's no serial number look closely at the drops for any stamps, pull out the fork to see if anything is stamped on it, measure the seat size and heat tube size to start getting general ideas of where the bike was produced. Identity all other parts on the bike (hubs, wheelset, derailleurs, freewheel etc). If the CLB Racer brakes are original, they were made from 73-77 and most likely on a French bicycle. The Z series shifters were from 1984 and I've also seen them on low end Peugeots. Pull out the bottom bracket and see what the make is and if it's French threaded. There is a long list of French makers who produced low end bicycles during the boom. If it's English threaded there's just as long a list to consider.
All of this might be a wild goose chase though because it looks like quite the Franken bike so there might never be a clear answer.

If everything is in working condition and it fits, you could've done a lot worse for 25€.

Since i was planning on restoring it, i have taken off the paint.
Once i made it to the steel, there were letters becoming visible.
I worked on them and the inner side of the head lugs clearly says 'BCM' now.
I found it twice stamped in the frame, very small on the inner side of the head lugs, once on the top, one on the bottom.
Anyone has photos of BCM frames/bikes, that i can use as a reference to restore the bike?
Thank you!

'BCM' is what Bocama stamped on their lugs. They show up on many frames, and are not much use as a point of reference for restoration, I'm afraid.
