2 recent Trek FX's (2011/2015)
1 80s Lotus Classique
1 80s Fuji that I am picking up this weekend

So that's a total of 4 bikes so far. Nothing near what you guys have. I am so envious of the space you all must have to store these things!

It's been 4 months since I bought a frame!

Isn't there some sort of medallion we should add to our signature? If you go off the wagon, the medallion disappears?

I'm "down" to 23 complete bikes, 5 of those are currently disassembled and 4 others are currently for sale. I have 4 other frames and enough parts to make a complete bike out of 2 of those, albeit not great bikes.

5 is pretty good. I only can say I ride two regularly, well 3 if you count the fat bike but it is the only ride for about 6 months, then the other two take back over. At least the road racing bike gets some training rides in the spring and a couple long events. I'd like to get a fixed gear on the road again and am seriously considering tearing down corky for this purpose. Sure it's rare but as a relative unknown the value it low, plus it's a restoration with botched 531 decals and way to brittle paint, should have been done over if you ask me. Might as well mark it it some....

cyclotoine 10-09-15 03:55 PM

I have spoken with guys and seen collections greater than 60 bikes all classics. Of course those guys don't spend time on here, they're too busy acquiring and building.

I lost my 6 month chip today.

Plus, I saw another one that looked great.
I think I'm going to sell my lawn mower.

Only three currently on the road — they have to share berths with the Yamaha SRX I use to get to work. Gazelle AB, Vitus 979, Simplon Four Star — all racing frames. There is a Woodrup, a Trek 560 MTB, a Trek 960 and a small Canadian-built Peugeot triathlon waiting the wings with the parts to build them.

A tiny fleet compared to a lot of other BF'ers, but I think it's a lot for anyone living in urban Japan, considering the spaces we have. If I build all of them up, I'll be sleeping with a couple of them!

Repeating to self:

I must not own 60 bikes
I must not own 60 bikes

Black sheets is the answer.

I think that after selling off a few few bicycles this summer we are down to 26 bikes between my wife, daughters and myself.

The three ladies have 7 between them, we have our tandem, while my collection encompasses the rest with a good number of those being vintage bicycles that don't see daily use.

I have a dedicated road bike, mountain bike, and 2 touring bikes and several bikes I use regularly for commuting and utilitarian purposes.

One bike lives in Michigan... I built up a hybrid for when we visit and left it there for other family to use.

Gary Fountain 10-10-15 03:30 AM

22

gomango 10-10-15 04:23 AM

Single digits at this point.

Will definitely sell more of these when I reach a personal goal. That will trigger a purchase of a Moots Routt 45.:)

Half dozen un-built framesets though.

They'll likely go to new homes as the boys' college bills show up in the post.

Where is family in Michigan? If near Detroit, please let me know next time you are in the Mitten.

I sold 6 bikes in the last two weeks, but one was a friend's, and I bought 3.

Our family is in the U.P. and you can't go any farther north without a boat but going to Detroit is on our list as we both have friends and family in the area... my wife is from Trenton originally.

My grandfather and all his siblings were also born just outside of Detroit (they moved west in the late 1800's) but there are still lots of other family members there... my cousin is a scout for the Tigers.

italianbiker 10-10-15 08:59 AM

I have about 8 trying to get down to 4.

gugie 10-10-15 10:19 AM

Close call, there was a Specialized Expedition frame in my size on the iBob site, but it sold before I hit enter on my keyboard.

So I'm still on the wagon.

Mine - 5 Road
Wife - 1 Hybrid (that she doesn't ride)
Daughter - 1 Cruiser (that she doesn't ride)
Son - 1 BMX, 1 Road (neither of which he rides)

sitting in garage - 1 POS that I was fixing to give to a former student and 1 F/F that I have for no reason...as it is junk.

miamijim 10-10-15 10:56 AM

2013Trek DS
2013 Motobecane BD bike
2005 Wilier frankenbike
1975 Ritchey
10th anniversary Merckx
1983 Diamond Back mtb

Yeah so if anyone asks you why you have 22 bikes, say it's because you DO NOT want 23.
